Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.

I am still yet to discover the best combinations of things that will keep my productivity on peak, and I think it would help if I lay it all out here so that I can track all things that is working for me right now.

Development tools

  • Visual Studio Code

Almost everything that I need is here. Although, it might not be the best if you are just starting out your programming journey because of some configuration that is needed. But I do think that it’s the best if you are a person like me that doesn’t like ultra-abstracted IDEs.

Productivity

  • Microsoft TODO

I do find this useful when I want to focus on small things or if I want to breakdown tasks into smaller parts.

  • Obsidian

I just started using this. It’s not as full-featured and as visually appealing as Notion but I am starting to see its value. I like how the notes connects into graphs. It helps me organize my learnings and navigate on them in a way that makes much more sense to me.

  • ChatGPT

I mean, who doesn’t use ChatGPT? I do benefit from it a lot because I don’t need to browse every website there is just to find answers to my question. It definitely boosts my productivity. It’s not perfect and not entirely reliable and people might think that it would solve every problems you have but believe me it would not. It helps to think of it as a tool and not something that you should rely on.
